ACE (Adult Education Classes)
We have two classes available this semester and each class will go for eleven weeks. We are very excited about these classes and would love for you to take advantage of them. Here are the details:

Peacemakers

Begins on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 8:f45 a.m.

God calls every Christian to be a peacemaker, but what does that look like in real life? Most of the time, biblical peacemaking simply means two friends meeting together over a cup of coffee and asking each other, "How does the gospel of Jesus Christ affect how we should respond to this conflict?" As you learn to live a lifestyle of reconciliation, you will see that peacemaking sometimes comes with cream and sugar.

There is no cost for the class, however there is a $5.00 charge for the participant's guide book.

The Obedient Child - A Practical Guide for Training Young Children in Confidence, Character and the Love of God.

Begins on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 8:45 a.m.

This is a fabulous parenting class led by a seasoned couple, Rick & Jane Norell. This class is for families with children ages 0 - 5 years old. Rick & Jane have raised three children who are now teens and young adults. Over the years they have taught this class to over 80 families at City Hill Fellowship. The class is called The Obedient Child, as they will be referencing this book of the same title written by Ken Wilson.

There is no cost for the class, however there is a $8.00 charge for the book. We were only able to purchase used books, as the original is out of print.

Child care will be provided at no cost for the nursery thru 6th grade. Elementary-aged children will be starting an "International Prayer Station" with Pastor Jay Ludwig.

For more information or to sign up for either class, please contact the church office at 952-941-7291 or email office@cityhill.org

Women's Ministry Bible Studies (Tuesday, September 16, 2008)
CHF Women's Ministry will be hosting three different Bible studies and all three will begin on Tuesday, September 16. Sign up has just begun. Here are the details on these three Bible studies:

Living Beyond Yourself - (Book by Beth Moore)

You can know the freedom of a life filled with the fruit of the Spirit. In Living Beyond Yourself, noted Bible teacher and author Beth Moore has put together an in-depth study of the fruit of the Spirit, which is living proof that the Spirit of God dwells in us. Through this study you'll come to appreciate the supernatural aspects of the fruit and that you cannot grow, learn or produce the fruit on your own. A Spirit-filled life truly results in living beyond yourself.

Facilitated by: Rebecca Woolf

Time: 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Location: Home of Rebecca Woolf

Child care may be arranged if there is a need.

The Peacemaking Church - (Book by Peacemaker Ministries)

God calls every Christian to be a peacemaker, but what does that look like in real life? In this Bible study, you will work together to learn to live a lifestyle of reconciliation.

Facilitated by: Char Johnson

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Location: Home of Char Johnson

Hinds Feet in High Places - (Book by Hannah Hurnard)

This book by Hannah Hurnard is one of her best known and loved books; a beautiful allegory dramatizing the yearning of God's children to be led to new heights of love, joy and victory.

Facilitated by: Michelle Dikken

Time: 7:00 p.m.

Location: Home of Michelle Dikken

Bible Quizzing
Are you interested in memorizing the Bible? Would you like to make memorizing fun? Are you interested in a competative, friendly atmosphere with great fellowship? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you should look into joining the Bible Quizzing this year.

Each month, teams of 3 - 7 youth (grades 6th - 12th) memorize a particular portion of scripture. Then, on the first Saturday of the month, teams from around the Minnesota & Wisconsin areas get together for a time of friendly (but intense!) competition. This year we'll enjoy memorizing portions of the Book of Luke. If you would like to join this team or for more info, contact Kevin Geppert: 651-771-8060 or nikokcg@yahoo.com.
