WELCOME TO CITY HILL
Sr. Pastor Jim Erickson
Here's a little about me and my heart for City Hill. I joined the City Hill team in 2000 and have been serving as Sr. Pastor since 2007.
A few of my deepest passions for City Hill include:
• To see people enjoy the freedom & joy that comes from loving Jesus and living
for Him,
• To see people experience and know the rescuing, redeeming and restoring
power of Jesus (what the Bible calls salvation or being born again),
• To be part of a church family that loves to worship and serve God with passion
and intensity.
I was born just outside of Chicago, but grew up in Japan as a missionary kid until the age of fourteen. I spent my high school years in Kentucky and honestly, they were a mess, marked by a lot of bad decisions. BUT, Jesus intervened during my senior year, and since then, life has been an adventure with Jesus in the driver's seat.
After graduation, I served with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) for six years, travelling the world, leading missions teams and equipping students. In 1995, I met Christine in the alps of Austria and we both served in Bosnia, just after the genocide war - crazy times! A year later, we had a sophisticated conversation that went something like this, “I like you, do you like me?” We were married in the fall of 1997. We now have four energetic kids, and we still really like being married to each other!
Other things I like? Action movies, good & loud music, techie gadgets, reading, desserts, most sports , including golf (well, most of the time!).
